The President of Somaliland, H.E. Dr Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi “Cirro”, held a breakfast meeting in Djibouti with the Ambassadors of France, Ethiopia, and the United Kingdom to the Republic of Djibouti. The encounter took place as part of his ongoing official working visit in Djibouti.
The primary aim of the meeting was to exchange views on regional dynamics and to discuss Somaliland’s role in promoting peace, stability, and development across the Horn of Africa. During the discussions, President Cirro emphasized Somaliland’s pivotal contribution to regional security and conflict resolution efforts. He underscored the need for joint regional and international collaboration to safeguard stability in the Horn, with particular attention to the critical issue of maritime security in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
President Cirro commended the longstanding cooperation between Somaliland and both the United Kingdom and Ethiopia ; countries which maintain active diplomatic representation in Hargeisa. He further called on the French government to open an official diplomatic presence in Somaliland, citing the growing strategic relevance of the country in regional and international affairs.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, marked by mutual understanding and a shared commitment to continued dialogue and collaboration.
